We offer real chalet food. With more then 12 years chalet experience our distinctive (and popular!) menu based is based on some great French and British classics. Tasty, well-cooked and nicely presented food is what we aim for, rather than fuss and pretentiousness. Our chalet cooks have to be passionate and experienced in cooking our kind of food, even before our intensive pre-season training course. Children's meals are served normally at 18.30, and aim to provide a healthy, balanced main course and desert. All the food served in the chalet is home-cooked, no processed or pre-cooked food is used.
Every morning the dinner menu is chalked up to give you something to look forward to later (and to avoid having the same at lunchtime!). Dinner has four courses, including our famous cheese course (over the week you'll get to try a couple of dozen French cheese you may well not have had before!)
Drinks with your evening meal: AC Bottled red and white wine is served with the meal, and water and soft drinks are also available. Typical wines served are:

We have become well known for our cheese courses; during the week you will be able to try about 20 cheeses, always served with informal but knowledgeable explanations. Here are a few of our favourites (plus many more to try!):
Breakfast consists of a selection of cereals, yoghurt, bread, jam, honey etc. and a daily cooked dish, such as scrambled with smoked salmon or fried egg and bacon. Tea, coffee and fruit juice are available.
Afternoon tea is available on a 'self service' basis, and includes a freshly baked cake, scones, etc with tea, coffee and soft-drinks.
Drinks: Beers, mixers, champagne, local quality wines, snacks and sweets are available from our self-service Chalet Minibar at very reasonable prices. We can obtain most drinks on request.
Wine and Cheese Tasting: One evening a week guests will have the chance to try a selection of wines and cheeses from the Savoie region, in which we are located. The local wines range from the very dry Apremont to the distinctive red Mondeuse, and Beaufort, Reblochon and Tomme cheeses are never more delicious then when tasted so close to their place of origin.
Chalet night off: Once a week the chalet staff take a well-earned break, giving guests the chance to try one of the many local restaurants. We can offer suggestions, make reservations of your behalf and arrange transport. Many types of cuisine are on offer, ranging from excellent wood-oven pizzas to traditional Savoyard fayre and serious gastronomy. Please note that guests are not permitted to use the chalet kitchen (for insurance and operational reasons), but crockery and cutlery may be used for bought-in food provided chalet staff know in advance. Chalet L'Aguille Grive has a separate guest kitchen which may be used for food preparation.
